Simon Cowell has spoken out about his health following reports that he has been suffering from a “mystery illness”. The Britain’s Got Talent judge, who was forced to miss some of the ITV show’s recent auditions, has now issued a health update. Taking to Instagram, Simon shared the reason behind his absences with his 2.2 million followers. The star included a picture of himself wearing tinted orange sunglasses, before poking fun at himself with another picture of a fly with large orange eyes.
He captioned the snap: “I just found out according to the internet, I have a ‘mystery illness’. For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights.
“Next week we are filming BGT in Manchester – I look forward to seeing you then. PS. This is why I wear these glasses!”
Britain’s Got Talent is set to return this Spring with Simon making his comeback to the judging panel alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly will also continue to host the talent show.
After reports of Simon’s health sparked concern, fans were quick to flood the comments section with messages of support after the star opened up about his migraines.
Darcie commented: “I hear ya…been a sufferer since ’86. Just a rotten disease.” (sic)
Dawn agreed: “I totally understand: I get migraines: so sickly painful and totally draining . Takes a while to recover. Get well soon. Take care of yourself Simon ! X” (sic).
“I suffer from migraines and so i get it,” Laura added, while Belinda wrote: “I know how you feel, Simon. These migraines are a nightmare. Hope you are OK.” (sic)
“I get migraines too just from one light!! They must be awful in all those lights. Take it easy,” Rachel penned sympathetically.
Britain’s Got Talent will likely air sometime between April and June on ITV.
