It’s been a trying year for Jennifer Lopez, and in turn, Ben Affleck. A marriage on the rocks clung to life for several months before Lopez finally put a stop to it all by filing for divorce in August. The split seemed mutual and amicable, but Lopez hasn’t been able to avoid negative press since it happened.
Her previous relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs has resurfaced in the minds of everyone since the music mogul was arrested. Her speech of endorsement at a Kamala Harris rally wasn’t met with the praise she likely expected. Overall, it seems like her public figure has taken a big hit in 2024. But it’s not all doom and gloom for Lopez.
Lopez has an upcoming film called “Unstoppable” that’s set to release in December. Lopez plays Judy Robles in the movie, the mother of wrestler Anthony Robles, who won several collegiate wrestling championships despite being born with only one leg.
As she promotes the movie, Lopez took part in a Q&A recently and unveiled some personal details about struggling with “challenging relationships” while being a mother.
I think a lot of women have gone through that, and she (Judy) and I talked a lot. When you talk to Judy’s kids, including Anthony, they’re like ‘my mom’s so positive, she’s so great’. There was a whole different story there that she was living, that you hide from your children, you protect your children from that.
The film is produced in part by Affleck, and he recently called Lopez’s performance in it as “spectacular”.
