Liam Payne’s Autopsy Reveals Multiple Drugs Were Found in His System Before His Death

Liam Payne died unexpectedly at the age of 31 after he fell off a balcony in Buenos Aires. Officials found traces of drug paraphernalia in his hotel room and are looking for the drug dealers responsible.
Liam Payne died after falling off a third-floor story hotel room balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel on October 16, 2024. Alberto Crescenti, Buenos Aires emergency services chief, told La Nación that the One Direction member suffered “serious injuries” that were untreatable once responders arrived at the scene. “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” he explained.

Sources told ABC that multiple drugs were found in Liam Payne’s system in a partial autopsy. Those substances ncluded “pink cocaine” – a recreational drug that typically is a mix of several drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others – as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack. An improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs was also found in his hotel room. Liam Payne’s body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete.

Argentine news outlet La Nacion reported that the former One Direction singer’s room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel had a smashed television, a half-filled champagne glass, and foil and white powder scattered. Wax and aluminum foil were found in the bathtub. A green lighter and a container of Dove soap also appeared in the hotel room.

The outlet reported police would be investigating any person who supplied Liam with any banned substances if they are proven to have been in his room. Two women were seen leaving Liam Payne’s hotel room before.
