The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, was rushed into announcing her cancer diagnosis, according to a fresh report.
The princess, Kate Middleton, revealed her diagnosis last month in an emotional video, confirming that she is undergoing ‘preventative chemotherapy’ in a bid to get clear of cancer.
The revelation came after speculation aplenty as to why Middleton was absent from public appearances for months, while she also attracted attention after posting a doctored family picture, leading to an apology.
Many believed the Princess of Wales and future queen revealed her diagnosis because of the increasing speculation over her whereabouts, but that was not the case, according to the Daily Mail.
The publication’s latest column reveals how Buckingham Palace were contacted by a news organization about Middleton’s diagnosis and were forced to ‘get ahead of the story’ by going public with the admission video.
“Whatever the reason, the universal acclaim heaped on Kate confirmed it was the right decision,” the column said.
While the British royal family will be unhappy about the fact they were forced to rush the publication of the information by a news organization, they will be even more frustrated by the fact the information was fed to that news organization by someone in the know.
The clinic where the Princess had surgery earlier this year is already being probed after an attempted data breach in relation to Middleton’s medical file, and there will be plenty of speculation over whether it was a clinic member of staff or someone close to the family that has leaked the information to a news outlet.
