LeBron James isn’t letting rumors get in the way of showing appreciation for the woman who has stood by his side. Fresh off a gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the NBA superstar praised his wife, Savannah James, as his true support system, making it clear that she’s the real MVP in his life.
“My wife takes care of the business, man. She’s the best,” James said during an emotional post-game interview with Andscape after Team USA’s victory over France to clinch the gold. “Without her, I wouldn’t even be in this position to be able to do what I do and love the game. I love it.”
The 39-year-old basketball icon, who was surrounded by his family during his final Olympic run, didn’t shy away from acknowledging how much Savannah means to him, especially amid swirling rumors.
“It’s why I do it. I do it for my family,” James emphasized. Savannah, along with their three children, was present throughout the tournament, cheering him on as he secured his fourth Olympic gold medal.
James, who also earned Olympic MVP honors, reflected on the significance of family during what could be his last Olympic appearance. “To have my wife and my two boys and my daughter here and the rest of my family here, it was everything,” he shared.
LeBron’s gold medal adds to an already glittering career that includes four NBA championships and four NBA MVP awards. His Olympic legacy is equally impressive, with gold medals from the 2008 Beijing Games, 2012 London Games, and now 2024 in Paris, along with a bronze from the 2004 Athens Olympics.
James was instrumental in recruiting top NBA talent for this year’s Team USA roster, including Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Joel Embiid. This victory followed Team USA’s disappointing fourth-place finish at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and James played a key role in rallying the stars to bounce back.
